  • Climate change studies for projects, plans and programs;

  • Studies on the decarbonization capacity to be implemented in certain projects;

  • Chemical analyses of the carbon content for materials, such as: coal, oil, solid waste, low carbon minerals (clay and clayey shale), high carbon minerals (limestone, dolomite, dolomitic limestone), clinker/ cement, lime, soda ash, iron ores used in the steel industry;

  • Modeling of GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions generated by certain projects;

  • Studies and laboratory analyses regarding the potential and optimal solutions for the reuse of products in the circular economy context;

  • DNSH (Do No Significant Harm) studies for projects/plans;

  • Multimodal transport studies in order to ensure an integrated, sustainable and efficient mobility;

  • Studies regarding the digitalized and SMART type solutions of the projects;

  • Other specialized studies on climate change and circular economy.

GEOSTUD

LEADING THE DEPARTMENT

  • Dr. Delia Dimitriu joined GEOSTUD to contribute to the development of the company’s expertise in decarbonizing strategies and involvement in EU initiatives.

  • She has experience in large infrastructure projects, collaborating with EC Harris and Louis Berger in initiatives related to water management or the impact on airports and ports.

  • She was part of the H2020 TAG (Transport Advisory Group).

  • She holds a PhD in Strategic Environmental Assessment from Manchester Metropolitan University (UK).

  • Climate change mitigation, air quality and noise management are topics of the professional portfolio.

OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Climate Change and Circular Economy addresses measures to mitigate the effects of climate change as part of the decarbonisation process in the European Strategy regarding the Green Deal and has as main ojectives:

  • Evaluating and providing solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change;

  • Establishing partnerships to address challenges and identify optimal solutions;

  • Elaboration of strategies related to research – innovation – demonstration – implementation – job creation;

  • Development of business models related to policies-research-practices, with emphasis on climate change and circular economy.

Metropolitan Train Gilău – Floresti – Cluj-Napoca – Baciu – Apahida – Jucu – Bonțida – Stage I of the Cluj Fast Metropolitan Transport System: Metro Line I and Metropolitan Train, including the connection between them – 58 Km

Rehabilitation of the Border – Curtici – Simeria railway line, part of the PAN EUROPEAN Corridor IV for trains running at a maximum speed of 160 km/h, Sector 2 (Km 614 – Gurasada) and Sector 3 (Gurasada – Simeria) – 144 km

Rehabilitation of the Craiova – Drobeta – Turnu – Severin – Caransebeș railway line, part of the Oriental/East – Mediterranean Corridor – 234 km
