Geostud, technical partner in the European project C-MineTech

Geostud is participating as a technical partner in the international consortium implementing the C-MineTech project, a strategic initiative funded by EIT RawMaterials, part of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) – a body of the European Commission.

Recently launched, the project is being carried out in Romania, Italy, and Greece, with the aim of developing a next-generation digital vocational training program dedicated to the automotive industry, with a focus on recycling and reusing raw materials. Its innovative component lies in the integration of Virtual Reality (VR) and Digital Twins technologies into the training process, offering participants an interactive experience aligned with labor market demands and European sustainability policies.

Geostud contributes to the project by developing a virtual educational module focused on environmental protection in the stages of dismantling and recovering materials from end-of-life vehicles. This approach combines the development of technical skills with the integration of circular economy principles and ecological responsibility in professional activities. The simulations allow the assessment of impacts on biodiversity and provide a replicable model for sustainable resource management in an industrial context.

The C-MineTech consortium brings together the expertise of organizations and institutions from complementary fields: Natura5 (Romania) – sustainable development and environmental awareness; UniSMART – Fondazione Università di Padova (Italy) – applied research and innovation; the Industrial Systems Institute (ISI) within the ATHENA Research and Innovation Center (Greece) – digital technologies and automation; and Fourthedesign (Greece) – virtual reality solutions. Together, the partners promote efficient resource management practices and develop green and digital skills that are essential for the transition towards a circular economy with reduced environmental impact.

Geostud’s involvement in C-MineTech strengthens the synergy between academia, research, and industry, and promotes the digital transformation of vocational training as a tool for enhancing economic efficiency and achieving sustainability goals.
