Geostud participated in the National Conference on Geotechnics and Foundations (CNGF 2025), held under the theme “Innovation and Sustainability in Geotechnical Engineering”, one of the most important events dedicated to the scientific and professional community in the field.
The Geotechnical Department of Geostud was represented by our colleagues Ovidiu Flintașu – geological engineer and Widad Al-Taha – GIS specialist, through the presentation of five published papers addressing key topics for the evolution of geotechnical engineering and sustainable infrastructure:
- Field and laboratory investigations for identifying the liquefaction susceptibility of sandy soils in the area of Metro Line 5 (Eroilor – Piața Iancului Section, Bucharest) – Vlase-Pleșa Adelina, Ceptureanu Adrian, Barariu Aurel
- Analysis of geotechnical risks that may occur during the construction and operation of the Robești tunnel – Mustățea Florin Sebastian, Barbu Irina, Emil Oltean
- The importance of field investigations for inventorying geotechnical risks that may occur during the construction of highways and the rehabilitation of railway lines in mountainous and hilly areas – Barariu Aurel, Niță Vali, Jianu Denisa, Iacob Cezar
- The effects of thixotropy on shear parameters – experimental analysis and numerical modeling – Mustățea Florin Sebastian, Flintașu Constantin Ovidiu, Mustățea Ruxandra Andreea
- Modeling the susceptibility to rockfalls for the Sibiu–Pitești highway: geomorphological and geotechnical approach through GIS techniques – Al-Taha Widad, Mustățea Florin Sebastian

Our colleagues’ presentations highlighted fundamental aspects for the advancement of modern geotechnics, risk management, and the strengthening of sustainable practices in infrastructure. Geostud’s participation in this event reflects the company’s orientation towards excellence, applied research, and continuous involvement in the development of science and engineering in the geotechnical field.
