Geostud participated, on February 19, 2026, in the kick-off meeting of the I-TEXGEO (IoT Supported Electronic Geotextiles for Sustainable and Smart Precision Agriculture) project, an initiative funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe program, coordinated by Istanbul Technical University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This project aims to revolutionize precision agriculture by developing and testing smart electronic geotextiles, integrated with IoT technology, for monitoring key soil parameters such as moisture, temperature and nutrients (N, P, K). I-TEXGEO aims to demonstrate a system based on a biodegradable carbon-impregnated geotextile structure to increase soil health and optimize crop yield by reducing water, pesticide and fertilizer consumption to ensure efficient agriculture with minimal environmental impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Geostud is a partner in this international consortium of 13 partners from 7 countries and will play a key role with its expertise in: complex soil investigations, both in the laboratory and directly in the field; testing, validation and long-term monitoring of soil-related systems; practical implementation of the final I-TEXGEO system in Romanian agricultural soils to evaluate its performance under real crop conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
