Geostud participated in the opening meeting of the European project DANSER (DANube Sediment Ecological Ecological Restoration), organized in Bucharest, 28-30 January 2025. The initiative brought together 35 partners from 7 Danube riparian countries. Funded through the Horizon Europe program, the project addresses the challenges of sediment transport and quality in the Danube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the sessions held during the three days, Vlad Sandu - Deputy General Manager, and Dr. Delia Dimitriu - Expert in Climate Change and Circular Economy, presented the role and responsibilities of the company in the project. Geostud will contribute with expertise in biodiversity monitoring, assessment of factors influencing sediment quality and pollutant transport, and assessment of the impact of sediment changes on riparian ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Close collaboration with international partners in the project will facilitate knowledge transfer and best practices in the field of river sediment management. The integration of the expertise of the various participating institutions - universities, research institutes, government agencies and private companies - creates the conditions for an integrated approach to the issue of the Danube sediment balance, with benefits for the entire Danube region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DANSER project is a strategic opportunity for Geostud to contribute to the improvement of the ecological status of the Danube, with a positive impact on biodiversity and sustainable development of the riparian communities, strengthening its position as a reliable partner in European projects dedicated to environmental protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
