Geostud continues the process of modernization of geotechnical investigation activities through the acquisition of Medusa DMT and SDMT systems - advanced technologies developed by Studio Prof. Marchetti (Italy), used internationally for the determination of geotechnical parameters both in static and dynamic conditions of the foundation ground.
Through DMT/SDMT tests, essential geotechnical parameters such as:
- deformation modulus (ED);
- material index (MI);
- the stress state index (KD);
At the same time, based on these results, derived parameters can be determined, which are used to evaluate the mechanical behavior of the foundation soil, such as:
- the resting pressure coefficient (K₀);
- module M;
- the angle of internal friction (Φ);
- overconsolidation ratio (OCR);
- shear wave velocities (VS).
During the technical training given by Simone Goracci, specialist of Studio Prof. Marchetti, the Geostud team was trained in the use, calibration and interpretation of the data obtained with the new equipment. The training included theoretical and practical aspects of field testing, analysis of measured parameters and integration of results in complex geotechnical studies.
The new Medusa DMT and SDMT systems allow to quickly and accurately obtain the relevant parameters for the analysis and design of foundation structures, contributing to the optimization of technical solutions and increasing the safety of the works.
Through the use of this innovative equipment, Geostud strengthens its reference position in the field of geotechnical investigations, continuing to promote innovation, precision and professionalism in field and laboratory activities.
