Geostud at „The Basics of the CFDP Engineer's Career” - an initiative for first year students at the Technical University of Construction Bucharest

Geostud participated as a partner in the 2025 edition of the event „Fundamentals of the CFDP Engineer's Career”, organized by the Railway Career in Romania (CFiR) in collaboration with the Faculty of Railways, Roads and Bridges (CFDP) of UTCB.

The company was present with an exhibition stand and gave an interactive presentation dedicated to geotechnics, giving first-year CFDP students the opportunity to discover how the technical knowledge acquired in college is applied in infrastructure projects and geotechnical and environmental testing, as well as the real challenges in the field.

At the interactive session, Sebastian Mustățea, Head of the Geotechnics Department, spoke about the importance of field experience, perseverance and innovation in building a solid professional career. During the event, Geostud's management team - formed by Petru Nicolae (CEO & General Manager), Emil Oltean (Geotechnical Technical Director), Vlad Sandu (International Development Director) and Mădălina Balint (Head of Project Management and Coordination Department) - were present to highlight the company's involvement in training new generations of infrastructure engineers.

The „CFDP Engineer's Career Basics” event aims to provide first year students with an applied introduction to the CFDP (Railways, Roads and Bridges) engineering profession. It combines presentations from infrastructure companies, direct discussions with students and technical visits (laboratories, construction sites) to connect academic theory with the reality of the profession.

For example, one of the days included a visit of more than 50 students to Geostud's headquarters and laboratories where they were able to observe first-hand the testing, analysis and research processes applied in projects, having the opportunity to better understand the role of geotechnics in the development of the infrastructure of the future and to interact with specialists involved in complex projects in the field.

By participating in this event and the subsequent steps, Geostud has highlighted the importance of practical experience and collaboration between academia and industry in the training of future engineers.

The company offers concrete development opportunities for students - internships, work placements and involvement in real projects - thus contributing to the training of a new generation of specialists ready for the challenges of the infrastructure sector.
