On 18-19 June 2025, Geostud participated in the workshop "Scaling Up Innovations to Market and Job Creation in the Blue Economy", organized in Tutrakan, Bulgaria, within the European project DaWetRest (Danube Wetlands and Floodplains Restoration) - an initiative funded by Horizon Europe, part of the European mission Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030.
The workshop brought together experts from Mission Ocean, representatives of the Romanian and Bulgarian authorities, international organizations, researchers and representatives of the regional business environment. The aim of the meeting was to discuss how innovations can be scaled up in the market and generate jobs in the sustainable blue economy, with a focus on the Lower Danube area.
Geostud was represented by Petru Nicolae, CEO and General Director; Dr. Delia Dimitriu, Expert in Circular Economy and Climate Change; and Vlad Sandu, Director of International Development. During the best practices sessions, the company presented sustainable business models that make efficient use of resources and circular economy principles, highlighted the role of the blue economy in regional development and the creation of green jobs, as well as the importance of cross-border collaboration for the restoration of wetlands and the strengthening of local resilience.

The workshop is part of the DaWetRest program, which tests and validates wetland restoration solutions in three demonstration regions (Croatia, Bulgaria, and Romania), with objectives such as improving biodiversity, water quality, climate resilience, and local socio-economic benefits. The project implements restoration measures with the direct involvement of local residents and develops business models and nature-based solutions supported by communities and decision-makers.
Geostud’s participation reflects the company’s commitment to contributing to international projects with real local impact, aligned with the objectives of the European Green Deal and the principles of the circular economy, supporting the green transition and strengthening the resilience of coastal and riparian communities.
